Loro Piana – Italian perfection in a Swedish collection
In the heart of the Piedmont forests in northern Italy lies the small village of Quarona, home to around 5,000 residents. It was there, in 1924, that Loro Piana was founded – and it is still where some of the world’s most exclusive fabrics are produced today. The Quarona facility remains Loro Piana’s oldest mill, though the company now operates ten factories across Italy.
Loro Piana specialises in producing premium fabrics for tailoring – primarily for blazers and suits. Raw materials are carefully sourced: Merino wool comes from certified farms in Australia and New Zealand, while the finest cashmere is imported from Mongolia. It's spun in Loro Piana’s nearby Roccapietra facility before being woven, washed, dyed, finished, and meticulously inspected in Quarona. More than 800 skilled professionals ensure that every metre of fabric meets the highest standards. At Loro Piana, craftsmanship and expertise are passed down through generations.

Sustainability
Loro Piana also takes great responsibility for the raw materials it uses. Both cashmere and Merino wool are sourced from producers who prioritise animal welfare and sustainable land use. During production, the wool is washed several times using water from the nearby Sesia River – which is carefully purified before being returned to nature. Renewable energy is also used in manufacturing, contributing to reduced water usage and a lower carbon footprint.
