Supplier Portrait - Marzotto
Marzotto – One of Our Italian Fabric Partners
Founded in 1836 by Luigi Marzotto in the small town of Valdagno, nestled in the mountains of Veneto just north of Verona, the Marzotto factory remains at the heart of the local community – employing a large part of its population.
Over the past 180 years, Marzotto has refined its production through a meticulous focus on detail and a steadfast commitment to quality. Today, with around 4,200 employees, they manage every step of the production chain – from the selection of raw materials to the final fabric – all under the creative direction of head designer Franco Fabrello.
Their process includes multiple stages: weaving, repeated washing of yarns and fabrics, and precise finishing using stretch, steam and fire – all to ensure the highest level of craftsmanship. Every metre of fabric is carefully inspected; any irregularities are immediately corrected by skilled specialists. By combining artisanal skill, responsibility, business acumen and creativity, Marzotto produces unique and exceptional fabrics.
Marzotto is known for its subtle textures, depth and pattern precision – from classic wool and cashmere to elegant linen blends. Glencheck, herringbone and pinstripes are just a few of their standout specialities.

Sustainability is deeply integrated into their work
With traceable materials and complete control over their supply chain, Marzotto continues to reduce water usage and chemical treatments. It’s yet another reason why we value and continue to grow this important partnership.
They also work with renewable energy and hold several significant certifications that reinforce their commitment:
SA 8000: Ensures that employee rights are safeguarded through rigorous internal policies.
RWS (Responsible Wool Standard): Guarantees that the wool is sourced from well-managed farms and sustainably maintained grazing lands. Fair working conditions are also required.
GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard): A globally recognized certification for organic fibres, limiting harmful substances and emissions throughout the entire production process.
